Downeast Hardcore: Stories from the Kave tells the extraordinary story of Kathy Findlay, an occupational therapist who transformed her rural Maine home into a haven for generations of young people. What began as a place for local hardcore shows became a refuge where teenagers found acceptance, lifelong friendships, and a sense of belonging. Through intimate interviews and decades of archival footage, the film reveals how one woman’s compassion and unwavering belief in others changed countless lives, proving that sometimes the greatest impact begins simply by opening your door.

Growing up in rural Maine, he developed an early interest in documenting the people and environments around him, which continues to shape his perspective as a storyteller.
